Timing
This activity has been designed to be done during one
lesson (55 minutes) in any class of the first term.
Objectives
ü
To
improve listening comprehension.
ü
To revise
some vocabulary of animals.
ü
To relate
animals with animal sounds (onomatopoeia).
ü
To
socialize and rejoice while improving listening skills.
Materials
- A computer
for the teacher and an IWB (Interactive White Board).
- Audio of
the song
- Lyrics of
the song
- Lyrics of
the song with gaps
- Some
pencils to fill in the gaps
- Some
props to dance with the musicClassroom arrangement
The pupils are in a horseshoe arrangement so that the
teacher can move freely along the class, although he/she is not the center of
attention since he/she is only a guide in the process, letting the students to
work with autonomy. This is the perfect arrangement to listen to the audio and
pay attention to the teacher too.
As soon as they complete the gaps, they will have to
dance with the music and pretend to be the animals they hear, so this
arrangement is suitable for dancing too because there is spare space in the
class.

the onomatopoeias on the blackboard and makes they pupils to pronounce them.

no need for this activity.

Hi Aida,
ResponderEliminarI have decided to write you in this post because I like this song very much. It's my favorite!
I think you've done an extraordinary job, I really like both the design of the blog and the content you present.
Putting links to go to online games seems like a fantastic idea.
The only thing I do not like (is only my personal taste) is as you have named the tags, I would have done either by courses or by themes, but not both.
Thank you for your job!
Ana
Hello Ana,
EliminarOf course I appreciate your advice because feed back is always necessary and useful to learn. However, I prefer to have it ordered like this because some people search for activities depending on the level and others on the topic, I am concious that sometimes when you are searching for some activities yo will find the same one on different tags.
Thank you for your comments.
Aida
