I leave you this play for you to print if you want to use it as a resource to improve oral skills in your class.
It was written by 6th Grade pupils, performed by 5th Grade students. Besides, students of 3rd and 4th Grades helped with the decorations.

SUMMARY
During the II World War, a princess, who wants to be a singer, lives in a castle with a library full of talking mice. One day, the princess goes to the castle of the Dublin King to talk to him about their treasures, but in the way, she meets a dragon and it kidnaps her. The fairy, who looks everything, informs the soldier about the kidnapping. The soldier does not believe the fairy and he decides to to to her castle to discover the truth. There, he meets two mice who give good pieces of advice and they tell the soldier that he has to call for two children, friends of them, who can ask for some wishes. After that, the soldier goes to the dragon´s castle to fight against it. He goes with the children, mice and the fairy. During the fight, the princess shouts desperately, the dragon throws a lightning to the soldier and the mice ask the children for a mirror together (the wishes have to be asked together) in which the lightning ricochets and kills the dragon. Everyone saves the princess, who invites all her friends to a party in her castle, in whick she sings a song and people dance and have a good time.
DIALOGUES
-Princess: (sings a song)
- Mouse 1: (when the princess finishes the song). Oh! fantastic! She is a marvellous singer!
- Mouse 2: You are crazy! She sings terribly.
- Mouse 1: You are stupid. You don´t undertand anything about music.
- Mouse 2: Go to sleep!
(Mice disappear and the princess and the fairy appear again)
- Princess: I have to go to Dublin King´s castle.
- Fairy: Why?
- Princess: Because I need money and he is very, very rich
- Fairy: Ok, I am going with you.
- Fairy: Ok, I am going with you.
(The princess and the fairy walk together to Dublin´s Kings castle)
- Princess: Today is sunny, it is a lovely day.
- Fairy: I ´d like to go swimming.
- Princess: Me too.
- Fairy: But I think tomorrow it is going to rain.
- Princess: Oh no, what a pity!
(A dragon appears)
- Dragon: Stop!
- Princess and fairy: Ahhhh! We are afraid, what happens?
- Dragon: I want the princess.
- Princess: No, no!
(Dragon kidnaps the princess, but the fairy escapes and alerts the soldier)
- Fairy: Soldier!!!!, I need help. The princess was kidnapped by the dragon!
- Soldier: What are you saying? I cannot believe you!
- Fairy: Please, please, it is true.
-Soldier: I am going to the castle to discover what has happened!
(Soldier goes to the castle whit the fairy and discovers that she had been kidnapped)
(Two mice appear in the castle, they are fighting for a piece of cheese)
- Mouse 1: It´s mine!
- Mouse 2: No, it´s mine!
(The soldier knocks the door)
TOCK TOCK
(Mice open the door)
- Soldier: I need help to rescue the princess!
- Mouse 1: I have the solution! I am going to call two friends of mine.
- Mouse 2: Mary, Ann!!!
(Two children appear)
- Child 1: What do you want?
- Soldier: I need help.
-Child 2: Why?
- Soldier: The princess was kidnapped by the dragon and I need help to rescue her.
- Child 1: We have the solution.
- Child 2: We are going to the castle with you and we will help you to beat the dragon.
(The soldier, children and the fairy go to the dragon´s castle)
- Child 1: (says to child 2). Oh! Your ribbons are very beautiful. I love them!!!
- Child 2: Thanks,I love yours, too!
- Mouse 1: (says to mouse 2) Don´t push my tail!!!
- Mouse 2: (crying) Why are you shouting at me? I am very very good.
- Soldier: (says to the fairy) I am sorry because I don´t believe you.
- Fairy: I doesn´t matter. Come on! Run! We are near the castle (says to the rest of the people).
(Everybody arrives at the dragon´s castle)
- Mouse 1: Look! The princess is in the tower.
- Mouse 2: No!!! Look!!! The princess is in the other tower!
- Everyone: Silence!
- Soldier: We are going to rescue the princess.
- Fairy: Ok!!!
- Children 1 and 2: We are going to ask for a wish.
(The dragon appears)
- Dragon: The princess is mine and never ever is she going to be for you. I am going to kill her at twelve o´clock.
- Princess: No, no no!, please help me!
- Dragon: Be quiet!!!
- Children 1 and 2: (ask for a wish) we want the princess to be free!!!
- Princess: No, no no!, please help me!
- Dragon: Be quiet!!!
- Children 1 and 2: (ask for a wish) we want the princess to be free!!!
(Nothing happens)
- Child 1: Oh no! The tower is haunted and we cannot make the wish.
- Child 2: But if the princess goes out of the castle, we could ask for wishes.
- Soldier: What are we going to do?
- Fairy: We are going to fight.
- Mice 1 and 2: Fight! fight!
- Dragon: I am going to kill you!
(While the dragon and the soldier fight, mice enter in the tower to try to rescue the princess)
- Mouse 1: (says to mouse 2) Look! There is a hole here. We can use it.
- Mouse 2: It´s a bad idea, but let´s do it.
(Mice enter and look for the princess)
- Princess: Help, help!!!
- Mice 1 and 2: She is there. Princess!!! We are going to help you!
(The princess is behind a door)
(Children and fairy appear)
- Child 1: We can´t ask for wishes because hte princess is in the tower and the tower is haunted.
- Child 2: Don´t worry! I can make a key with my hands.
(Child 2 makes a key)
- Fairy: (Takes the key and opens the door) come on! Go out! (says to the princess).
- Everyone: We are going out of the castle because the soldier needs our help.
(Out: the soldier and the dragon continue fighting)
- Dragon: This lightning is for you!
- Soldier: Oh, no!
- Mice 1 and 2: Ask for a mirror!!! (say to the children) Now you are out and we can ask for a wish.
- Children: We want a mirror!!!
(A mirror appears and the lightning ricochets and kills the dragon)
- Everyone: Fantastic! We win! Now we want a party! We want a party!
(The princess celebrates a party in her castle with everyone)
- Princess: (Sings a song).
(When the princess finishes the song, the rest of the people speak and dance)
(Mice argue about a piece of cheese)
- Mouse 1: It´s mine!
- Mouse 2: No! it is mine!
- Mouse 1: (says to mouse 2) the princess sings very well. Beautiful!!!
- Mouse 2: (says to mouse 1) No!!! she sings terribley, as always.
(Children appear and speak together)
- Child 1: Your ribbons are beautiful!!! I love them more and more.
- Child 2: Your ribbons are also beautiful and they are a bit similar to mine!!!
- Princess: (speaks with the fairy and soldier). Thank you for rescuing me. What about my song? Am I a good singer? What do you think?
- Fairy: I am very pleased of helping you. Your song was marvellous!!! Why don´t we keep on dancing?
- Soldier: I loved your song too. I am sorry but I have to fight in another battle. This is my job. I am very pleased of meeting you. Bye!!!
- Everyone: Bye!
(The ghost of the dragon appears)
- Dragon: (the ghost). UUUUUUU!!!!! I am the ghost of the dragon and this party is great!!!
(The dragon dances with everybody)
